Students receive scientific skills through the subject modules of scientific work, statistics, test statistics and test theory, and evidence-based practice and quality management. Furthermore, the course deals with topics from the social sciences fields of applied psychology and ethics, professional politics and scientific theories. In addition, the course includes lectures on theory-based therapeutic action (subject areas are prevention, treatment theories and models, interdisciplinary field of action, clinical reasoning, inclusion in the therapeutic field of action). Furthermore, students gain professional expertise in physiotherapy in the fields of training sciences and performance diagnostics, motion analysis and biomechanics. In addition, students will gain insight into therapy scientific aspects of the whole lifespan (children and adolescence, adulthood, old age) and in therapeutic-scientific aspects of physiotherapy. Lectures deal with the latest developments in the neurological rehabilitation in psychosomatic and chronification conditions and in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. In addition, students gain scientific methodological skills in professional practice as well as health-related skills.
