What are my activities in this job?
Hearing aid acousticians advise customers regarding hearing aid systems and options for hearing damage prevention. They determine hearing ability using hearing tests. In order to prepare a hearing aid or hearing protection, hearing aid acousticians take impressions of the customer's ear canal, fit the hearing aids or the hearing protection into the customised earpieces and customise these according to the customer's hearing needs. In the event of issues or complaints, they are responsible for any necessary repairs, regularly checking the functioning of the devices and providing instructions for the customer on how to use of the device. Commercial activities such as price calculation also fall within the remit of hearing aid acousticians.
