What are my activities in this job?
Medical assistants support doctors with treatments and examinations. They are also responsible for preparation and follow-up work in the treatment room. They support and advise patients. They also plan practice procedures, set appointments, welcome patients, document patient contact details and settle invoices with the health insurance provider.

Medical assistants primarily find work in medical practices, institutions and organisations in the healthcare sector, outpatient nursing services, health centres and hospitals.
What requirements must I meet?
  • Intermediate school-leaving qualification; successful completion of a ten-year programme of education & training that follows the first general education school leaving certificate.
  • General medical fitness
