Orthopaedic shoemakers make orthopaedic shoes or orthotics as prescribed by a doctor. They create individually customised footwear in order to counteract abnormal foot positions or injuries. They are also responsible for the customisation and sale of orthopaedic aids, such as insoles.

Orthopaedic shoemakers work primarily for orthopaedic shoemaking workshops and clinics and rehabilitation facilities as well as for healthcare supply stores and orthopaedic shoemaking departments.
What requirements must I meet?
