What is the content of the course of studies?

The course provides content on management in organizations, health economics and health systems, principles of organizational psychology, scientific nursing principles, self-management, business principles, work design in nursing care, in the process, project management, business accounting, health and society, nursing science and transfer, management of groups, finance and control, introduction to nursing research, challenges for nursing care, management of staff, management of quality in healthcare, law organizations, nursing leadership, counselling, guidance, training, social law in care, in-patient healthcare, inpatient care of the elderly, outpatient services as well as in academic work.

Where can I find employment later on?

Graduates take on management tasks on lower and middle management levels as well as in function or staff positions in complex organizations, such as inpatient hospital care. Initiating care-related work processes at the operational level of organization and independently designing these. They are involved in the preparation and support of strategic organizational decisions. In small and locally operating organizations, such as in-patient elderly care and outpatient services, they take on comprehensive, strategic decisions on performance and results control.

In what fields/subject areas can I work?

Graduates are employed in middle management as ward and department heads or group or residential sector head. They take on line management functional tasks (organisational, facility management). They see a key area of work and action in the management of employees. They are, for example, entrusted with quality management, personnel development or controlling.

What are the entry requirements?

  • General higher education entrance qualification, advanced technical college certificate, vocational qualification and three years of professional activity.
  • Since practical relevance plays a central role in the HFH degree program, the Bachelor’s degree program provides for a main internship of 20 weeks after the 3rd semester, which you reflect on and complete by writing an internship report. Should you have a qualified management activity or experience in the field of management, these can be recognized as the main internship. However, the internship report is compulsory.

What costs will I incur as part of my studies?

270 € per month (11,340 € in total), plus examination fee for the final thesis 490 €.
